What is RTT hypnotherapy?

RTT is a fast, root-cause approach that combines hypnotherapy with techniques from psychotherapy, NLP, CBT and neuroscience-informed work. It was developed by world-renowned hypnotherapist Marisa Peer, and it's designed to help you understand and change the subconscious patterns driving unwanted feelings or behaviours.

How it works

RTT uses hypnosis to access a relaxed, receptive state, then gently explores the deeper origin of the issue. From there, the session works to shift the belief or response that has been reinforcing the problem. You stay fully aware and in control the whole time, it feels like a deep, relaxed focus, similar to daydreaming.

Why people choose RTT

RTT vs traditional talk therapy

Both can help, but they work very differently. Here's how RTT compares to open-ended talk therapy:

 RTT hypnotherapyTraditional talk therapy
FocusThe subconscious root belief driving the problemConscious thoughts and weekly events
Typical lengthOften 1–3 sessionsMonths to years
ApproachFind the cause, then change it at the rootTalk through and manage symptoms over time
Reliving traumaNo reliving, we understand the cause, then move onCan involve repeatedly revisiting painful events
TakeawayA personalised recording to reinforce the changeUsually none between sessions
Best forGetting unstuck quickly at the sourceOngoing, open-ended support

What it can help with

RTT is commonly used for confidence, anxiety, imposter syndrome, self-sabotage, fear of public speaking and phobias, smoking, and the feeling of being stuck or emotionally blocked. After your session you receive a personalised hypnosis recording to listen to daily, which reinforces the new neural pathways and helps the change last.
